I got some brown mossy/nesty looking stuff (will work on not throwing away the wrappers so I can know what my supplies are called) at Joanne's and started from there!

You will need:

- Glass plate or bowl (Dollar Tree)

- Brown nest looking moss

- candle stick holder (Dollar Tree)

- 3 plastic eggs

- small dish (Dollar Tree in the candle section)

-Newspaper or old book or music

-Modge podge

First I glued the small dish to the top of the candle stick holder. Then I put the moss in the plate, spreading it around so it looked a little messy, as all nests should:) Then I stuck the bottom of the candle stick holder into the moss in the middle and pushed it all the way through and pulled the moss around the base of the candle holder so you couldn't see it. Then I started the eggs.

For the eggs, you tear up the paper that you have chosen into squares. Then piece by piece, you modge podge the pieces...yes sometimes overlapping....all over the egg until it is completely covered. Repeat with other 2 eggs. Once it is dry, modge podge on the outside to make it nice and smooth.

And there you have a very fun nest centerpiece! I will post about the frame centerpiece holder once I know who to give the credit to!

Maggs

Proclamation to the Family with pictures

I had so much fun doing my "Living Christ" framed with pictures by Greg Olsen(using Beautiful Savior 3x4 prints at Deseret Book) , that I just had to keep going! I had a "Proclamation to the Family" that I wanted up when we first got married in 2008 but didn't just want the words. When I went to Desert Book the next time, I found these small pictures of family, also by Greg Olsen. The pack is called I feel my Savior's love. It has a bunch of 3x4 pictures. I just chose my favorites and put them together....trying very very hard to cut straight edges! The frame I just found at the thrift store with the mat. If you are going to do this, you do need a mat inside to put the pictures on. It was very simple and didn't take me very long.

All you need is:
-An 11"x14" frame(or a little bigger if you cannot find one that size)

-Beautiful Savior picture pack from Deseret Book

- Mat that will fit inside desired frame (it needs to be 1 1/2-2" wide around the edge)

-Glue stick

-Scissors and ruler

When you are doing this, just make the edges as straight as you can. The pictures will fit nicer. This picture is a first try at doing this so forgive me if it doesn't look that fabulous.....I just don't want to tear it out and do it again. The first time is just where you learn by mistakes:)

I do not have a very nice camera or a Silouette...or anything very cool so I apologize for crappy pictures! I am a very young crafter with not very much right now, but if I'm really good and have a lot of patience, perhaps I will get the fun machines for Christmas one day:)
